He began working as an illustrator in 1996, and has worked on the cover art and illustrations of numerous books, as well as picture books. His 2014 book "The Speech of the Poorest President in the World" (Shiobunsha) was a huge bestseller, selling over 150,000 copies. His Japanese scenery depicted using Bezier curves is familiar to people of all ages as a nostalgic yet new style of "Japanese-pop."
